Brevard man charged with accessory in deadly Titusville shooting

TITUSVILLE, Fla. — A Brevard County man has been charged in connection with a deadly shooting in Titusville Jan. 9.

On Monday police arrested 30-year-old Michael Jones for being an accessory after the fact in the shooting death of Anthony Berry of Mims.

On Sunday, Titusville police were called to the 500 block of Rock Pit Road for reports of a shooting just after 1:30 p.m.

When officers arrived on scene they found a large group of people fighting and Berry dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

According to an arrest report Jones was captured on surveillance video telling the suspected shooter that they needed to leave.

The report says Jones and the alleged shooter then got into a maroon Chevy Impala and drove away.

Police said when they interviewed Jones he admitted to giving someone a ride from the area that day but that he was not sure if it was a shooting.

Jones was later arrested and booked into the Brevard County jail on $200,000 bond.

Police have not said how many additional arrests they may make and that the gunman is not in custody.
