However, this year the nonprofit itself is in need of help.

“Right now the biggest need is finding a location for our warehouse,” said Max Nissenbaum, the coordinator for Toys for Tots South Brevard.

Last year, the organization helped over 3,400 families. This year, Nissenbaum anticipates a greater need because of the pandemic.

“Christmas is just another thing that will be harder for them and it shouldn’t be,” Nissenbuam said. “I want to make that easier for everyone.”

The coronavirus is likely to complicate the collection and distribution of toys, but Toys for Tots South Brevard said the remain hopeful that someone in the community will donated a suitable warehouse space.
