The Florida Department of Health has released a 13-page document detailing COVID-19 in schools across the state, but some of the data does not align with what’s being released by the school districts.

The document tracks data from Sept. 6 through Sept. 26.

The agency provided Channel 9 with the following statement:
“The Department of Health is committed to transparency and providing the most up-to-date COVID-19 information to Floridians. The school report will be updated every Tuesday.”
The state has reported close to 1,500 cases associated with students and teachers just last week.
Back in August, the Florida Department of Health “inadvertently made available” a rough draft report of COVID-19 cases in schools.
The data does differ from some school districts' data. For example, the state says if students or teachers are showing symptoms, but Osceola School District’s dashboard does not. However, Osceola does show the number of people quarantined because of positive cases and the state does not.
Eyewitness News noticed some data disparities when comparing state and district data. For example, Osceola County is reporting two cases at Harmony Community School and the state is only reporting one.
