BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — SpaceX launched its first rocket in the new year on Tuesday morning.

The company sent a Falcon 9 rocket into orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

The launch happened at 9:56 a.m.

This launch, called Transporter-6, is what SpaceX calls a “smallsat rideshare mission.”

Transporter-6 will have 114 payloads, including “CubeSats, microsats, picosats, and orbital transfer vehicles carrying spacecraft to be deployed at a later time.”

After the launch, SpaceX landed the first stage of the rocket at its Landing Zone 1 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
