KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. — Another manned mission to the International Space Station is set to launch from Florida’s Space Coast next month.

NASA and SpaceX are targeting Sept. 29 for the launch of the Crew-5 mission.

A lot is riding on this joint mission between NASA and SpaceX.

However, the date of the Crew-5 launch could slip based on the timing of an upcoming Soyuz mission to the ISS.

Mission leaders also said Crew-5 is coming with a number of firsts.
“This this will be our first female commander for Dragon and the first time we fly a Cosmonaut,” said SpaceX human spaceflight program director, Benji Reed.

Crew-5 will also include Japanese astronaut Koichi Wakata, the only spaceflight veteran.
