Person taken to hospital after small plane crashes onto Melbourne Beach

MELBOURNE BEACH, Fla. — A small plane crashed onto Melbourne Beach on Friday morning, Brevard County Fire Rescue said.

Firefighters said it happened at about 9:15 a.m. near Cove Road and Highway A1A.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered the plane was upside down on the beach.

They said one person was taken to a hospital and another person refused treatment.

The extent of the injuries of the person who was hospitalized is unknown.

Firefighters said there was no fire or fuel leak.
