The USSSA Space Coast Stadium was transformed into a field of dreams for 15 families adopting 17 children Friday.
Tyrel William Trahan-Little, 16, wasn’t convinced he’d ever find a forever family but he and his adoptive parents, Bryan and Jocelyn Little, chose one another during a court hearing at the USSSA Space Coast Stadium in Viera.

Tyrel said the experience in group homes and foster homes was difficult.
“Sometimes, I didn’t know where I was going to sleep or where I was going to have to deal with different personalities, different adults,” he said.

Tyrel has lived with the Little family for six months but was no stranger to them. Jocelyn Little worked in public schools as a behavior technician and said she worked with him for a semester before he was moved to a different placement.
“He was just such a hard worker, a good kid, and just so kind,” she said.

Jocelyn Little and her husband, Bryan Little, met Tyrel again at an adoption event.
“It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions and days, but I know this day to Tyrel means a lot, so it means a lot to Jocelyn and I,” Bryan Little said.
The CEO of Brevard Family Partnership Phillip Scarpelli said this event was a blessing for the families.
“These children have now secured a loving home for the rest of their lives,” Scarpelli said. “It’s something for communities to celebrate on the heels of a pandemic and two hurricanes.”
Now Tyrel has a family that will support his dreams of going to college and becoming a surgeon in the medical field.
