Street racing may be cause of deadly hit-and-run crash in Palm Bay, police say

PALM BAY, Fla. — Two people are dead, and police are searching for a hit-and-run driver after a crash in Brevard County.

The crash happened in Palm Bay at around 7:18 p.m. along Palm Bay Road near Babcock Street.

According to Palm Bay police, the victims have been identified as sisters, 61-year-old, Noami Hammen and 58-year-old, Maria Ramirez, both are from West Melbourne.

Officers said the crash may be connected to street racing.

Police are looking for a dark blue Chrysler 300 that fled the scene dragging its front bumper.

The vehicle was last seen traveling north on Babcock Street from Palm Bay Road.
