Man arrested after fight at restaurant leads to shooting in Cocoa, police say

COCOA, Fla. — Police in Cocoa said they have made an arrest after a fight inside a restaurant led to a shooting in the parking lot.

Officers said they arrested Bryson L. Jones, 24, after the shooting around 2 a.m. Sunday at Marino’s restaurant and bar on Oleander Street in downtown Cocoa.

Witnesses told police that before the shooting a fight broke out in Marino’s involving several people.

Officers said after the fight Jones fired around 30 rounds in the parking lot, and several struck a 24-year-old man.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he is expected to recover.

Police said that Jones drove away after the shooting and was later arrested in Rockledge after running from police on foot.

Officers said Jones was taken to the Brevard County Jail on several charges including attempted second-degree murder, attempted felony murder and resisting an officer.
