Over the weekend, Titusville police responded to multiple drug overdoses, and on Saturday, two people died from potent doses of the deadly drug.

“This drug combination with the fentanyl killed them where they sat. There is no acceptable level of drug experimentation with our sons and daughters,” said Titusville Police Commander Jeff King.
Police believe a fatal batch of opioids mixed with Fentanyl is responsible for the recent rise in ovedoses and deaths.
Titusville police raided a home on North DeLeon Avenue on Saturday, seizing illegal drugs laced with fentanyl.
“We’re almost double at this point in the year than we were this time last year in our response to overdoses,” King said.

Titusville Police have already responded to over 95 overdose calls this year. Police said if they weren’t equipped with Narcan, a prescription medicine used to treat suspected opioid overdoses, many more calls could have been fatal.
“We remain committed to targeting and stopping anyone who is engaged in the selling of deadly narcotics in the City of Titusville”, said Special Investigations Sgt. Troy Barbour. “This agency initiative remains a top priority to stop the sale of fentanyl and save lives.”
