Health First, Brevard County first responders train for mass casualty event

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Health First and Brevard County first responders trained for a mass casualty event Wednesday at Space Coast Regional Airport.

The drill included overturned vehicles, multiple medical emergency scenarios, and trauma victims who included “Trauma Hal,” a simulated patient purchased with a grant from the Health First Foundation.

“He’s interactive. He’s able to breathe. He’s able to have CPR performed on him, start invasive procedures on him, as close as you can get to a human being while doing a simulation,” said Dr. Scott Zenoni with Health First.

The drill was designed to improve emergency response and trauma care.
