BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — 8:09 p.m. update The Delta IV Heavy rocket successfully lifted off from the Space Coast Thursday evening as scheduled at 8:09 p.m.

A Delta IV Heavy rocket is set to liftoff from the Space Coast on Thursday for the NROL-44 mission.

Officials said the mission will be launching a classified spy satellite for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).

The launch was originally scheduled for 6:15 p.m. but has since been postponed to 8:09 p.m. because “some launch milestones have taken longer than expected.”

The rocket will blast off from Space Launch Complex-37 at Cape Canaveral.
