WEST MELBOURNE, Fla. — Officers in West Melbourne were injured Thursday after struggling to pull a man from a burning vehicle.
Video shows the car full of smoke as officers from the West Melbourne and Palm Bay police departments work to get the man out.

Officers responded to the car at around 10:30 a.m. while at an unrelated call at the Hampton Inn on Durham Drive.
Flames and smoke were visible as they approached, and a man could be heard screaming for help from inside.
Due to the heavy smoke, officers were forced to break windows to get the man out.

Video shows the man confused as officers work to rescue him.
The man was pulled from the car and taken to a hospital in stable condition for treatment.
During the rescue, two West Melbourne police officers and two Palm Bay police officers were injured by smoke inhalation and taken to a hospital for treatment.

Three of the four officers were released, but one remains hospitalized for observation, officials said.
Police said the cause of the car fire remains under investigation.
