BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A home in West Melbourne was severely damaged by fire on Saturday, according to Brevard County Fire Rescue.
Firefighters responded to a home on John Carrol Lane after receiving calls about an active fire.

As crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and active flames coming from the structure.
Crews from the Melbourne Fire Department assisted Brevard County Fire Rescue to fight the fire.

Major damage was seen to the home after crews got the blaze under control.
Officials said the occupants were out of the home and there were no injuries reported.

Despite the damage, firefighters said the people who live at the home will not need Red Cross assistance.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
