Deputies: 11-year-old shot by another child after finding gun inside Brevard County home

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A child was shot by another child on Sunday evening after finding a gun inside of a home, according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the shooting at around 7:15 p.m. at a home on Kennedy Circle in unincorporated Cocoa.

First responders found an 11-year-old boy who was suffering from a gunshot wound.

Deputies said two children had found a gun inside of the home, and one child accidentally shot the other.

The child who was taken to a hospital is in stable condition, deputies said.

The investigation is active and ongoing, deputies said.
