WEST MELBOURNE, Fla. — Brevard County firefighters and crews with the Florida Forest Service contained a 100 acre wildfire Saturday afternoon.

On Saturday, Brevard County firefighters and crews with the Florida Forest Service contained a 100 acre wildfire near I-95 and Ellis Road in Melbourne that started on Friday.
9:00 a.m. update:
Brevard County firefighters and crews with the Florida Forest Service continue to battle a wildfire near I-95 and Ellis Road in Melbourne on Saturday.
According to the Florida Fire Service, the fire has grown to 100 acres and it currently 90% contained.

Crews said the fire has grown to 75 acres and four FFS units are working in the area, with one more on the way.

Fighters said the wildfire started around 12:30 p.m. near I-95 and Ellis Road in Melbourne.

Crews reported the fire was around 50 acres with several unites responding to battle the blaze.

It is unclear if there are any structures being threatened by the fire.
