Child accidentally drowns during backyard party, Titusville police say

TITUSVILLE, Fla. — Titusville police are investigating after a child was found at the bottom of a pool during a backyard party.

The drowning death happened Saturday afternoon on Christine Drive near the intersection of Fox Lake Road and Interstate 95 in Titusville.

Investigators said the child accidentally drowned in the backyard pool, which was occupied by other partygoers at the time of the incident.

Police said an adult noticed a small child’s body at the bottom of the pool, pulled her out of the water, and began life-saving measures.

The child was taken to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Police continue to investigate this incident and will release further details once completed.
