BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Channel 9 anchor Martha Sugalski was granted a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience what the Blue Angels pilots do every day and soar to new heights.

Sugalski said she “had the honor” of going up — straight up, actually — with Lt. Julius Bratton on Wednesday afternoon from Orlando-Melbourne International Airport.

The 40-minute flight aboard an F-18 included some barrel rolls and loops. It took them over Cape Canaveral and the Vehicle Assembly Building at the Kennedy Space Center — all while hitting 7.3 Gs.

“To say it was the ride of a lifetime is an understatement,” Sugalski said during Thursday’s newscast.
