CDC approval clears Carnival Cruise Line to restart sailings

PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. — Carnival Cruise Line reached an agreement Friday with Port Canaveral to restart sailing.

The company received approval on its restart plan from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday.

Carnival expects to announce plans for operations from the port soon.

Port Canaveral CEO Capt. John Murray said this is the news they have been waiting for.

“A tremendous amount of effort went into these agreements and the first step in getting the cruise industry up and running once again,” Murray said.
