BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Two Brevard public school campuses had to be evacuated Friday, after a pair of separate bomb threats.

Parents were alerted and students on West Shore Junior-Senior High School campus were evacuated after one of those bogus threats.
“We were in our fourth-period class,” said student Shane Winsten. “It was about halfway through, and they made an announcement for everybody to go to the field.”

Melbourne police said that was shortly after, someone called West Shore Junior-Senior High School saying bombs were at the school before hanging up.
Police were then called to sweep the campus with canine units, but nothing was found.
“They told us it was like a drill,” said student Ashley Grant. “So, we’re just sitting out there for an odd amount of time, a long time, and they didn’t really tell us what it was.”

Earlier Friday, a separate phony bomb threat was called into Cocoa High School on a recorded line.
School officials said it was an adult, possibly a parent, threatening to come over and blow up the school.
Cocoa police aren’t confirming that, but said investigators are following up to determine who made the call.
The school district said there are indications the disruptive incidents are related.
