BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Brevard County has $18 million available in federal funding for emergency rental assistance.
More than 350 residents have applied for the COVID-19 relief since the county began accepting applications two weeks ago. But, more than a third of their applications have been returned because of incomplete information.
In order to qualify, applicants must be county residents whose household income is at or below 80% of area median income. That would be $55,350 for a family of four.

Priority is being given to very low-income families and individuals who haven’t had a paycheck in 90 days or more as a result of the pandemic. Supporting documentation is required.
So far, the average request for assistance is around $2,400. Applications are available at all 17 county libraries and the law library, and the Brevard County Housing and Human Services’ website.
