COCOA BEACH, Fla. — A Cocoa Beach medical device company is teaming up with the Mayo Clinic to help people suffering from long COVID-19.
The research centers on a basic breathing device that’s been effective since the 1980s in treating other respiratory, cardiac and neuromuscular impairments.

Researchers now hope to add “long COVID” to that list.
PN Medical and Mayo Clinic will measure how this basic, non-drug device, already used for decades to strengthen respiratory muscles for other conditions, may reduce long COVID-19 breathing issues.

CEO Mark Carbone, a two-time COVID-19 survivor himself, is shifting his company’s entire research into long COVID-19 recovery and helping people return to normal lives.
“To be part of the solution really matters to us, that we’re not on the sidelines, we’re taking a bold step forward to try to cause positive change,” Carbone said.
