KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. — Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft successfully docked with the International Space Station on Friday.

After a few delays, Starliner docked with the space station around 8:28 p.m.

Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft is making its way to the International Space Station.

The docking comes after a successful launch from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on Thursday.

Officials said overall, the spacecraft and its systems are doing well.
However, there was an issue with two of the spacecraft’s orbital maneuvering thrusters, but teams said backup thrusters did their job.

This is a landmark mission that will develop a second crew provider to the International Space Station.
SpaceX, another launch provider for NASA, flew its fourth operational mission to the space station last month.
This mission will help NASA certify that the Starliner can fly with astronauts.

In addition to launch, rendezvous and docking, teams will also be keeping a close eye on the Starliner’s reentry and landing.
The plan is to dock the Starliner at the space station for about five days before it departs for a landing.
