‘Unfavorable weather’ forces SpaceX to stand down again on Falcon 9 launch

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Update: SpaceX says they were forced to stand down for a fourth time Friday due to continued unfavorable weather conditions.

The next launch attempt will be Saturday, Sept. 17 at 8:43 p.m.

After unfavorable weather delayed its last three attempts, SpaceX is once again set for another rocket launch Friday night.

With less than 30 seconds to go before liftoff, SpaceX scrubbed its Falcon 9 rocket launch for a third time Thursday evening.

The launch window is now set for 9:01 p.m. Friday.

The launch is part of SpaceX’s Starlink mission, which is creating a global network of satellites that provide high-speed internet access.

The company recently announced that Starlink internet is now available on all seven continents, after confirming a connection with a research station in Antarctica.
