Back in November, voters approved a property tax hike to increase their pay. Now, those employees will see those raises at the beginning of the next school year.
The first payment will come on Aug. 31, just in time for the beginning of the new school year.

Brevard Public Schools officials said there will also be oversight.
“We also have an Amazing Citizens Oversight Committee that’s going to mirror the Half-penny Cent Sales Tax Review Committee,” Brevard Public Schools Chairman Matt Susin said.
But, the millage increase will expire if it’s not extended.
“The state has also looked at teacher salaries and recognizes that’s an issue,” acting superintendent Sue Hann said. “The district recognizes that’s an issue, and our community recognizes it’s an issue, and it really takes all of us working together.”
