Brevard County deputies ask for public’s help in locating escaped inmate

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding an escaped inmate.

Deputies said that Nathan Barker escaped from the Florida Department of Corrections Work Release Camp in Sharpes on Friday night.

According to a news release, Barker left the area in an unknown direction from Camp Road in Cocoa, and investigators believe he may be headed to Volusia County, where he is originally from

Barker was last seen wearing “fluorescent green” clothing/work uniform and had an ankle monitor; however, it is believed he has removed the GPS.

Barker currently has an active warrant for escaping custody and has a lengthy criminal history that includes drug charges and fleeing and eluding law enforcement.
