TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Authorities have arrested a man they said confronted his ex-wife and fatally shot her boyfriend, who tried to break up the fight.
Tallahassee police said Sheldon Rogers confronted the couple at their home early Sunday morning. As the fight escalated, police said Moise Joseph stepped between Rogers and his ex-wife, telling her to run.
According to police, Rogers shot Joseph several times. Joseph was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Joseph saved the victim's life, giving her enough time to run to safety and call police. She was not injured.
Her name is not being released for her safety.
Officers stopped Rogers as he was driving away from the area.
Rogers was held without bail on premeditated murder and aggravated assault charges. His first appearance is scheduled Tuesday.
