Boy hurt by crashing drone at holiday show in Orlando released from hospital

ORLANDO, Fla. — A 7-year-old boy who was hurt by a crashing drone at a holiday show continues to recover from his injuries.

The boy was seriously hurt after a drone crashed into him during a show at Lake Eola on Dec. 21.

Several drones crashed during the performance, and some flew into the crowds, including the one that hit the boy.

He was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando for treatment.

His mother, Adriana Edgerton, told Channel 9 that he was released from the hospital Monday.

His parents wanted to celebrate his release in style and share a video with Channel 9 showing him driving a small children’s electric car as he left the hospital.

The community has rallied around him during his road to recovery and helped to raise more than $34,700 through a GoFundMe account.

The Federal Aviation Administration is looking into the case.
