Juan Santiago’s body hadn’t been seen since Sunday. Investigators said he flew down from New York to check on his son, Jonny, that night after the family had grown concerned with the 18-year-old’s behavior.

Law enforcement said Santiago’s wife heard her husband and son arguing before shots ran out and the line went dead.

Jonny Santiago then crashed into a Mount Dora synagogue Monday night and started shooting at deputies.
