The Orlando Museum of Art significantly grew attendance and revenue, passing pre-pandemic levels in the same year of the Basquiat exhibit scandal and fallout.

On April 3, OMA filed its Form 990 tax form for fiscal-year 2022 (July 1, 2021-June 30, 2022) that covered the “Heroes & Monsters: Jean-Michel Basquiat” exhibit, showing the museum saw its highest revenue since 2014.
The exhibit, which initially was intended to run from February 2022 to June 2023, closed within months of its opening after the FBI took possession of the artwork over concerns about its authenticity.
