Back to the run: Wadeview Park filled with love in the 7th Annual CommUNITY Rainbow Run

ORLANDO, Fla. — Hundreds of Central Florida residents came together to run with pride on Saturday morning.

Runners had an early start at 8 a.m. at Wadeview Park.

The 4.9K run honored the 49 people killed in the Pulse nightclub tragedy, survivors, and first responders.

The theme for this year’s run was strength, which is one of the six words that came out of onePULSE’s 2017 Memorial Survey and represented having strength in numbers.

In addition to the 4.9k run, the event featured a Kids Fun Run.

Those away from home had a virtual option to join the race.

Runners from every state and 15 countries have participated in the past virtual runs.

This year’s CommUNITY Rainbow Run kicked off the Seven-Year Pulse Remembrance Week, which concludes on June 12 with the Annual Remembrance Ceremony.

The ceremony will be held at the Dr. Philips Center at 7 p.m.
