Michael Allen, 50, died after being shot multiple times. Denise Czajkowski, 48, was airlifted to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford.

The shooting occurred around 1 p.m. in the Grasshopper Lake area, deputies said.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Aaron Czajkowski, 43, and his wife Denise, 48, were at the lake with their dog when Allen and his girlfriend, Crystal Barnett, 33, arrived.

A fight began between the couples almost immediately over Allen parking near Czajkowski's car.

The couples did not know each other previously, deputies said.

At some point, the fight between the two men became physical and  each pulled out handguns and opened fire, deputies said.

No information was immediately available on what may have escalated the altercation.
