Apopka H.S. 9th grade center lockdown lifted after student flees arresting officer

APOPKA, Fla. — According to Apopka police, an officer was trying to place an Apopka High School student in custody when he took off Tuesday.

Authorities are searching for him in the area and have not said what the student is being charged with.

The student's name has not been released.

The 9th grade center had been placed on lockdown, but it has since been lifted.

Police said the student is not considered dangerous.
