ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s greenlight of the Pfizer vaccine for children ages 5 to 11 has allowed that research results to officially reveal who got the shot and who didn’t.
Over the last 36 hours, more than 130 children in the study have found out if the shot they got was the COVID-19 vaccine.

The news came as a surprise for Stephanie Vanos, learning her 9-year-old daughter Lea did receive Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for children in the Orlando trial over the summer.
“I don’t know if that’s because it was a smaller dose, but she didn’t even have a sore arm,” Vanos said. “So no one really thought she got it. So I think she’ll be very surprised.”
