Alert issued for missing and endangered Tavares boy kidnapped by grandmother, police say

TAVARES, Fla. — A search is ongoing after an AMBER Alert was issued Sunday for a missing boy in Tavares.

Police said 5-year-old Jace Saunders was last seen Sunday afternoon near Summerall Park.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said Jace could be with his grandmother, Kelly Day-Dasilva.

The two could be traveling in a black Honda Accord.

Jace was last seen wearing a long-sleeved black shirt with a multicolored graphic and dark-colored pajama pants.

Tavares police said Jace’s parents have also been arrested for interference with child custody due to their lack of cooperation in the attempt to locate their son.

Police said Jace has autism and is semi-verbal.
