BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Earlier this month, Brandon Snyder was being congratulated on his promotion to the rank of major in the U.S. Air Force.
Now, the 32-year-old is being accused of sexual battery against an 18-year-old woman.
According to court documents, the alleged assault happened on Father’s Day.
The 18-year-old told Brevard County Sheriff’s Office investigators she was visiting a Melbourne family when the suspect walked into her bedroom to let her know that dinner was ready.
She told deputies he shut the door and began to touch her, and that he wouldn’t stop when she asked him to.
The woman said he then climbed on top of her, so she pushed him off and ran to the bathroom, where she called the home’s owner, who told Snyder to leave.
When investigators interviewed Snyder, they said he relayed that he did not believe that he had done anything criminal, but knew it was wrong because of his wife.
The suspect’s wife told investigators her husband indicated the victim had come on to him and he admitted to touching the teenager over her clothing.
Snyder was being held on a $100,000 bond and was ordered to stay away from the victim and the location of the incident.
