Work is finally set to begin this month.
During peak hours, traffic can build up on County Road 419 between Pine Ave. and Avenue B.
According to the Florida Department of Transportation, that particular corridor sees more than 12,000 vehicles per day, a number that’s expected to increase over time.
FDOT recently released an official presentation on the project, which aims to change the current two-lane configuration to four lanes - two in each direction- and includes a 22-foot wide grass median, sidewalks, and bike lanes.
The project is part of an effort to increase mobility through the area and improve safety.

FDOT also plans to build a new storm water pond and improve the existing ones to help control flooding in the area.
Improvements to Lake Jessup Avenue and Oviedo Blvd. will also be included in the project.
Construction will eventually call for periodic lane closures during overnight hours between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m.
FDOT will install messaging boards throughout the area to help guide drivers through the closures.
The total cost of the project is an estimated $20 million.
