ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — In 2003, Carey Price hit and killed Grady Hill while he worked at a construction site on State Road 417 near University Boulevard in Orange County.
Two other workers were seriously injured in the crash.
Price was arrested and charged with DUI manslaughter but when he bonded out of the Orange County Jail, he went on the run, officials said.

He remained on the lam until last April, when he was captured in the Dominican Republic and extradited back to Central Florida.
He took a plea deal last week and was sentenced to 12 years in prison, eight of which are mandatory.
Hill’s family was disappointed with the length of the sentence, but were glad to see justice finally done in the case.
“Did we want more?” Hill’s sister, Peggy Jandrew, asked. “Yes, we wanted more. But it’s not going to bring my brother back.”
Knowing that Price will spend eight years behind bars brought his family some relief, Jandrew said.
“Closure can come now because this chapter of our life has been closed,” she said.
Once he is released from prison, Price will be barred for life from driving, drinking alcohol or visiting a bar.
