Advocates to denounce new illegal immigration bill signed in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. — An organization that advocates for immigrants in Central Florida said it will denounce a new law just signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis.

The new law requires employers to use E-Verify to check an applicant’s immigration status.

It also prevents counties and organizations from using tax money to issue ID’s to undocumented immigrants.

The law will also prosecute people who transport them with five years in jail and a $5,000 fine.

Members from the Hope Community Center in Apopka said they will speak about the bill Thursday.
