Doug Harcombe, CEO of AdventHealth Central Florida South Market and AdventHealth Lake Nona, said AdventHealth Celebration is in a much better place than it was in 1997.

The former CEO of the hospital held up an October 1997 magazine cover citing issues the hospital had at its start. The $150 million hospital, known at the time as Florida Hospital Celebration Health, was built without the then-required certificate of need from the state, which had delayed its opening.

“They said Celebration needed luck to be successful,” Harcombe said. “Well, look at where we are standing today.”
