ORLANDO, Fla. — AdventHealth gave an update Friday morning on COVID-19 vaccines and its plans to distribute them in Central Florida.
The hospital said its COVID-19 vaccination rollout is “exceeding expectations.”

Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine is being administered to frontline workers and nurses at AdventHealth as the FDA considers approval for the Moderna vaccine.
“We’re off to a really good start,” said Dr. Steven Smith, AdventHealth’s chief scientific officer. “We have several thousand who have been vaccinated. We have been preparing for this for almost three months. All of the systems are in place. There is a lot of excitement in the lines. It has a very positive feel to it --a lot of high-fives -- and I think it is going great.”
