ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An 18-year-old Orange County man told deputies he had fantasized about committing murder and was unprovoked when he fatally stabbed his 65-year-old mother Wednesday evening, an arrest affidavit said.

Deputies said Michael King confessed to stabbing Nancy Ann Noone at their home near Winter Park.

“Michael explained the murdering of his (redacted) was unprovoked in that there was no conflict leading up to the actual murder,” the affidavit said.

"Michael further explained he had fantasized of committing murder in the past but only acted on it today," the affadavit said.

Deputies said they were called shortly after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday to the home on Cornwall Road near Banchory Road and North Semoran Boulevard, not far from the Cady Way Trail in the Winter Park Pines neighborhood.

Investigators ruled the death a homicide and arrested King on a charge of first-degree murder.

An arrest report said King gave detectives a detailed description of how he stabbed Noone several times and sliced her throat.

"Michael King confessed he previously fantasized about doing a killing, which he carried out today," the report said.

Deputies said they have been called to the home twice in the past six months.

In August, they responded to a report of a suspicious incident, and King was taken to a hospital.

In November, they were called to the home after King and Noone got into a verbal argument, investigators said.

"The facts of this will morph into gossip, and the neighborhood may change the story," said Robert Wesley, King's public defender. "We'd like to know as soon as we can as much as we can."

Wesley said he is unsure of King's mental state and that he is scheduled to meet with him Friday.
