As prosecutors file motions of intent to seek the death penalty for two women accused of beating a 3-year-old Pine Hills boy to death, new evidence was released in the case.
Recordings of 911 calls and dashcam video of deputies' response to the scene paint a picture of what it was like the night Xavier Mokarzel-Satchel died.
"He's barely there," the boy's mother, Brandi Mokarzel, told a dispatcher in one 911 call. "His eyes are rolling."
Barton, 57, is the mother of Mokarzel's girlfriend, Lakesha Lewis, 28, who is also charged with Xavier's death.
Xavier died in July at the Eagle Landing apartments on Silver Star Road in Orange County's Pine Hills neighborhood.
Mokarzel told a deputy that during the attack, she tried multiple times to call 911, but Barton, “knocked the phone out of her hand” telling if she called for help, “she had something coming.”

When asked if Lewis seemed worried about Xavier after seeing his injuries, the detective said, "Not at all."
Mokarzel said she gave Lewis permission to punish Xavier and that the beatings escalated from a hand, to a slipper and then a curtain rod.
She said she too beat Xavier with a slipper and a plastic spoon in the past.
Lewis and Barton were both arrested and charged with neglect of a child causing great bodily harm and first-degree murder. Barton was also charged with tampering with a witness.
