9 things to know about Kirstin Delgado, Channel 9′s newest anchor

ORLANDO, Fla. — Channel 9 announced Friday that Kirstin Delgado will join Channel 9 Eyewitness News This Morning as a news anchor.

Here are nine things to know about Delgado:

1. She was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and was raised in Kennesaw, Georgia.

2. She graduated from Virginia’s Hampton University with a degree in broadcast journalism.

3. Her happy place is the beach. “My soul is filled with tranquility there,” she said.

4. Her hobbies include arts and crafts, do-it-yourself projects and gift wrapping.

5. Although Kirstin doesn’t often cook, her specialty is flan.

6. She is a pescatarian but will occasionally enjoy steak or chicken.

7. Kirstin has two cats, Cosmo and Tom.

8. She roots for the UCF Knights.

9. Delgado was born in Puerto Rico, is bilingual and is passionate about the Latino community.

Delgado will join co-anchor Christian Bruey from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. weekdays on Channel 9 Eyewitness News This Morning and from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Channel 9 Eyewitness News on WRDQ TV 27.
