5. Flyover ramp for SR 528, SR 436 interchange to open
On Monday, the flyover ramp for the State Road 528 and State Road 436 interchange is expected to open.
The new flyover ramp from northbound SR 436/Semoran Boulevard to westbound SR 528/Beachline Expressway (Exit 1B) replaces the tight loop ramp, providing a smoother traffic flow.
The entrance for the new flyover ramp is nearly a half mile to the south of the entrance for the old loop ramp meaning drivers have an earlier decision point, officials said.
Drivers need to follow the signs for the new ramp entrance and not rely on their GPS mapping systems.
If drivers miss the new ramp entrance, they can continue north on SR 436 to TG Lee Boulevard where they can make a U-turn to return to westbound SR 528 via southbound SR 436.
