ORLANDO, Fla. — Afternoon storms are forecast to stick around this weekend, but don’t let that spoil your plans.

Thousands of race fans will pack Daytona International Speedway starting Friday. The speedway will host the Wawa 250 race Friday night and Coke Zero Sugar 400 on Saturday night.

• 2) Orlando’s Magical Dining returns
Visit Orlando’s Magical Dining is returning for its 17th year. For 2022, Magical Dining will feature 102 restaurants. The event will run from Aug. 26 to Oct. 2.

• 3) Soccer matches in Orlando
The Orlando Pride will take on OL Reign on Friday starting at 7 p.m. Orlando City SC will face New York City FC on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Both games will be played at Exploria Stadium in Orlando.

• 4) A century of learning in Orlando
Orlando city leaders will gather with the community Saturday at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate 100 years of education programs. The event will feature the Jones High School Band and be held at the Callahan Neighborhood Center.
This literature event will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Orlando-area literary organizations will offer resources to local writers.
• 6) Run Nona 5K & Nemours Kids’ Run
Beat the heat and experience the excitement of Lake Nona at the newly revamped Run Nona H20 on Saturday. The Nemours Kids’ Run and Kids’ Zone will occupy little runners with engaging activities specifically for them.
• 7) Falcon 9 launch at Kennedy Space Center
If you’re not sure if you can make it to Florida Space Coast for the historic first launch of Artemis 1 on Monday, there is another launch planned for this weekend.
Space is aiming to launch a Falcon 9 rocket around 10:22 p.m. on Saturday from the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

The Orlando Record and CD Show will be held from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Central Florida Fairgrounds.
• 9) Overdose Awareness Day at Lake Eola
An overdose awareness vigil will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday at Lake Eola Park. The event will feature speakers and information tables. People are asked to bring their own lawn chairs but candles for the vigil will be provided.
