9 reasons why we love Florida in the fall

First day of fall First day off fall. (wftv.com)

Summer is officially over, but as the humidity and temperatures simmer down, the fun really starts ramping up.

Whether it’s saying hello to cooler days and pumpkin beer and goodbye to pesky love bugs, there are plenty of reasons to fall for fall in Florida. Here are 9 reasons why we love the season here in the Sunshine State.

Lower temperatures

And we don’t mean the nigh-freezing overnight temperatures some -- nay, most -- of the country sees. Our highs in the fall are in the low-to-mid-80s and lows usually hit the mid-60s. That’s perfect jacket weather.

We can rub our weather in other people’s faces

Oh, you reached 72 degrees yesterday? That was our low. Boo-yah!

We don’t have to tailor Halloween costumes to the weather

Our costumes -- be they scary, sexy or a combination of the two -- can remain without the thermal underwear peeping out from underneath thanks to Florida’s comfortable weather.
