ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health confirm Friday that a 6-year-old girl has died from the coronavirus and is now the youngest victim in the state.

The unnamed girl lived in Hillsborough County and passed away on Monday, records show.

In total, 8 children under the age of 18 have died in Florida since March 1.

In June, a 17-year-old boy in Pasco County and a 16-year-old girl in Lee County were the first reported deaths under 18 in the state.
