ORLANDO, Fla. — About 50 vehicles were broken into Sunday morning in the area of Dade Avenue and Rollins Street just outside Florida Hospital Orlando, police said.

Glass and other debris caused by the break-ins littered the parking lot where dozens of owners found their vehicles damaged and property stolen.

Andrew Hepp found his driver-side window broken out and the back seat of his vehicle ransacked.

The break-in is going to cost him more than just the things that were stolen, he said.

“This is out of my pocket,” Hepp said. “Not the insurance, they don’t pay for side windows.”

Vic Garib parked his truck in the same parking lot as Hepp when he went into work at about 5 a.m. Sunday.

About four hours later, he returned to the truck only to find a smashed window and expensive equipment missing.

“I had a couple bags of change and a brand new jigsaw, a cordless jigsaw,” he said. “That’s all gone.”

The Orlando Police Department has not found any suspects connected to the numerous break-ins.
