4 people, including deputy's daughter, charged in Brevard County homicide case

TITUSVILLE, Fla. — Four people, including the daughter of a deputy, were arrested in connection to the fatal shooting of a man in Brevard County.

Rayshaan Berry, 28, was found dead on the side of State Road 50 near Titusville Saturday morning. Investigators said Monday that Berry likely knew all of his accused killers.

Deputies arrested David Richardson, 25, Lauren Hudgens, 22, Sir Aljenon Ingram, 22, and Kendrick Kitchen, 23, over the weekend.

Channel 9 learned Hudgens is the daughter of a Brevard County deputy.

"There's probably some association with all the parties involved in this. She was the bait, if you will, to lure him out so they could rob him," said Maj. Tod Goodyear, with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said Hudgens lured Berry to a Days Inn motel, pretending to be a prostitute. He was then ambushed by a group of men who tried to rob him, but when Berry refused to comply, he was shot, according to deputies.

His body was then driven west of Interstate 95 and dumped on the side of State Road 50.

Deputies searched a vacant home on Daryl Terrace in Titusville in connection to the case Saturday, but did not specify why they were collecting evidence in the home.

The suspects are facing first-degree murder and robbery charges and are being held in jail without bond.

Homicide detectives said they expect to make more arrests in the case.
